LOFOTEN is a sculptural steel shelf in 1.5 mm brushed stainless steel that works as both an artistic object and a practical shelf.
The plate is mounted with a hidden Z-bracket on the back that holds it approx. 0.7 cm from the wall and gives it a floating look. In the right light the steel shimmers and casts soft reflections into the room.
The low shelf at the bottom is ideal for pillar candles, jewellery or other small objects that set the mood in your home.
Stainless steel is a robust and hygienic material that is easy to wipe down and maintain. See our cleaning and maintenance guide.
We value Danish craftsmanship, which is why all our products are made by hand and undergo strict quality control. Finally, we handle each product individually to polish, brush and quality check it.
We want you to get a durable, functional and timeless design.

WHY STAINLESS STEEL?
We focus on premium materials. Stainless steel holds its form, carries weight with ease, and offers a unique brushed finish that stays timeless. Unlike softer materials, stainless steel is built for daily use and for the years that follow. It is extremely resistant to corrosion, rust, and stains which makes it a perfect material to withstand the elements.
Strength: Stainless steel offers superior strength. carries heavy weight, holds its shape, and does not flex or give over time. Unlike softer materials such as aluminum, stainless steel is made for daily use and for the years that follow.
Finish: Stainless steel offers a unique refined brushed finish with a calm, premium expression. Visually stable and timeless, the surface retains its character over time. A quality that lighter metals cannot replicate.
Durability: Stainless steel is built to last. It resists rust, corrosion, stains, scratches, and temperature changes while maintaining a clean, hygienic surface. Over time, it develops a subtle patina without compromising strength or appearance, making it well suited for everyday living and long-term use. A quality that softer metals like aluminium cannot replicate.
Our pieces are designed, handcrafted, and warehoused in our local workshop in Aarhus, Denmark. By producing in smaller volumes and working with trusted specialists, we keep quality close and support local hands and local communities. Acier Studio is built on craft, care, and the belief that doing things locally still matters.
